Oz: Broken Kingdom

Oz: Broken Kingdom is a strategy and role-playing game set in the same world as the famous story from L. Frank Baum. In this game, however, the adventures of well-known characters such as the scarecrow, the lion, and the tin man take a dark turn, with an aesthetic and setting that are not as sweet and innocent as the original versions.

The game gives you challenges to complete with strategic turn-based combat. To fight, you have to manage your deck of cards and their unique characteristics, taking into consideration the cost of mana and the game turns for each one. The game doesn't try to hide its similarities to Hearthstone, so you may find that lots of the game menus and elements remind you of this game from Blizzard.

To play, you have to create and organize your deck of cards as you add new cards and level up so that their effects become even more powerful. In the beginning of a fight, you can choose a character with special abilities that corresponds to a certain class. So the scarecrow is the equivalent of the mage, and the lion is like a powerful warrior.

Oz: Broken Kingdom has great production value even though it's completely free. Its business model is based on in-app purchases that you can make to speed up improvements or instantly add new and better cards without having to constantly participate in the extensive story mode or alternative events like the arena or fights offered for a limited time only. All you have to do is follow the yellow brick road.
